COVID – 19 UPDATE – Port of Hoodsport Phase III

PORT OF HOODSPORT PHASE III

The Port of Hoodsport has made operational changes in accordance with Phase III of Governor Jay Inslee’s ‘Safe Start’ approach. In addition, Inslee’s Statewide Mask Mandate requires anyone conducting business in Port offices to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Port Commission meetings will continue to take place remotely. In an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), regularly scheduled Port Commission meetings have been and are being conducted via ‘Zoom’ internet meeting rooms in order to adhere to the required social distancing guidelines. Access information for these meetings is by request, via email at portmail@hctc.com and must be received by 4 pm the day prior to the regular port commission meeting.

Port of Hoodsport Marina and Waterfront Park remain open to the public. Maintenance personnel will continue to practice social distancing.

The Public Restrooms are closed. The Port Public Restrooms remain closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.  As per the CDC, federal and state guidelines the Port of Hoodsport continues to protect the health and safety of the Public and Port personnel.
 
Hoodsport Hills Disc Golf Course is open to the public. Masks and social distancing are mandatory, players must follow the CDC, Federal, State and local guidelines.

COVID-19  SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

In accordance with Governor Jay Inslee’s stay-at-home order, the Port of Hoodsport will be making changes to some of its operations.

Port offices closed to the public.  The Port of Hoodsport office will remain closed to the public until April 8, 2020, in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).  The Port of Hoodsport Administrative will be working remotely and is available by calling 360-877-9350.

Port Commission meetings have been suspended through the duration of the stay-at-home order. Regularly scheduled Port Commission meetings and work sessions have been suspended until the stay-at-home order has ended. Port Commissioners will only convene when business operations require a Commission decision.  Any necessary meetings will be conducted via ZOOM or Conference call Meetings to adhere to the required social distancing guidelines.   Public meetings and access to public meetings will be posted online and notices will be posted on the port office window.

Due to COVID-19, Regular Public Commission Meetings have been suspended until further notice.  Any future meetings of the Commission will be in compliance with the Governor’s proclamation.

 Overview

The Port of Hoodsport is a municipal corporation governed by three elected commissioners who set policies and objectives representing a district within Mason county and serve a 5-year term. The commissioners appoint the Port’s executive director, who is responsible for the ongoing management of the Port’s enterprises and facilities.
All regular port commission meeting minutes are available on the Ports website.  The public is invited to give public testimony and comment on items of interest to the public at monthly meetings in the winter months and bi monthly meeting during the spring/summer/fall.  The meetings are open to the public, where public comment is taken.
