MINUTES FROM THE REGULAR PORT COMMISSION MEETING

OF THE PORT OF HOODSPORT COMMISSION July 18, 2018

Call to Order:
9:00am
    Adjourned: 9:50am

Meeting Held at:    Port of Hoodsport 24113 N US Hwy 101 Hoodsport, WA

Roll Call:
Commissioner Petz – Commission Chair, Commissioner O’ Laughlin, Commissioner Brazil

Staff Present:
K. Wyatt, Port Operations Manager, B. Osborne – Director of Maintenance, S. Lindgren – Maintenance

Public:         None

Approval of Agenda:
Commissioner Brazil made a motion to approve the agenda as written, Commissioner O’ Laughlin seconded, unanimously approved.

Minutes:
Commissioner O’ Laughlin made a motion to approve the Regular Port Commission minutes from July 11, 2018, Commissioner Brazil seconded, unanimously approved.

Vouchers: No Vouchers to be approved

Public Communication:
None

Commissioner Reports:
Commissioner Petz said in regards to the public restroom drain field they anticipate re plumbing the diverter valve to its specifications and installing the anti siphon component. Maintenance will continue to monitor the flow rates. Commissioner O’ Laughlin asked if there was a possibility of having a plan of action that can be submitted to the County by fall. Commissioner Petz said after the valve is raised, the anti siphon component has been installed and the numbers collected on flow rates, the septic specialists will be able to eliminate possible problems, and then be able to create a plan of action. This is a very busy time of year, closing the restrooms 3 days a week will help the drain field at this point.

Port Maintenance Reports:
Hoodsport Trail Park: B. Osborne is working on putting up metal reflective trail signs up along the trails at the trail park.

Hoodsport Marina, Dock & Waterfront Park: The waterfront park looks terrific.

Public Restrooms: Currently open to the public intermittently as directed by the septic system specialists and the County. B. Osborne changed the setting on the magnetic door locking system to reflect hours designated by the County environmental health department.

Port parking/maintenance shed: Household trash is regularly being left in all of the trash receptacles at the port restroom, waterfront park area and by the Port dumpster.

Port Operations Manager Report:
K. Wyatt provided a spreadsheet recapping the current paid invoices to compare with the Port’s 2018 budget. The numbers looked good with the exception of the public restrooms anticipated budget which has been substantially more due to paying for extra sani cans and troubleshooting the cause of the problems with the drain field. There is $20,500.00 in the 2018 budget slated for traffic safety devices. Commissioner Brazil made a motion to relocate the $20,500.00 from the traffic safety device line and move it to the Public Restroom category through the end of this year to use for repairs. Commissioner O’ Laughlin seconded the motion, it was unanimously approved.
