Approval of Agenda:
Commissioner Petz made a motion to approve the 05-08-14 meeting agenda. Commissioner O’Laughlin seconded, unanimously approved.
Minutes:
Commissioner O’Laughlin made a motion to approve the minutes of March 19, 2014. Commissioner Petz seconded, unanimously approved.
Vouchers:
Commissioner O’Laughlin made a motion to approve the Vouchers of April 2014 1of1 $6,001.94, April 2of2 $303.78, April 3of3 $140. And May 1of1 $5,189.57 Commissioner Petz seconded, unanimously approved.
Public Communication:

Commissioner Reports:
Commissioner O’Laughlin was approached by the Visitors Center regarding the Hoodsport Trail Park brochures. They will be internally printed and distributed to the Visitors Center and will be in the kiosk at the Hoodsport Trail Park. Commissioners Brazil & O’Laughlin acknowledged another dangerous tree posing a threat to the kiosk and outhouse at the trail park. It will be removed and the wood will be donated to the Kiwanis. The branches will be chipped by the maintenance crew and distributed in the park where needed. Commissioner O’Laughlin reminded the Port Commissioners to attend the Kiwanis ‘Spring Fling’ on Saturday May 17th. The Kiwanis were approached by the Hoodsport Community Events Assn. to take over the Christmas Tree Lighting event. It was suggested the Port buy the Christmas tree for the Community.
Port Maintenance Reports:
Hoodsport Marina: Use of the boat slips has increased due to ‘Shrimping’ season and good weather. No problems to report. Spring flowers will be planted in the planters on the Port property and at the Waterfront park. Public Restrooms: Usual maintenance regarding plugged toilets and toilet paper theft. Hoodsport Trail Park: A chipper will be rented to chip up branches in the parking area and distributed in the park where needed.
Port Operations Manager Report:
The Port of Hoodsport 2014 Spring Newsletter has been submitted to the Lake Cushman administration and to the Chamber of Commerce to insert in their quarterly magazine and to post on the explorehoodcanal.com website. The newsletter can also be found on the Ports website, at the Hoodsport Library & on the Port office window, it will also be given to IGA as a bag insert. Large flower baskets have been ordered through the Chamber of Commerce to hang from the telephone poles on the Ports property. A reminder was made to the Commissioners to attend the Kiwanis Spring Fling dinner/auction on Saturday May 17th. We are currently working on the Schedule 22 Annual Audit for the State of WA. There was discussion on whether or not to continue membership with the Economic Development Council, it will be tabled for the next regular Port commission meeting.

A Public Survey is being discussed and assembled.
