To prepare for the re-opening, a volunteer work party is scheduled for Saturday, May 13th, from 10 am – 2 pm. As part of the reforestation project, 3000 Cedar trees (impervious to laminated root rot also known as Poria weirii disease), were purchased and replanted within the park to restore the forest and wildlife habitat; and to protect soil and water resources. With continued support and investment, our trail park has the potential to make a lasting impact on the health of the environment and economy of our community.
Along with the re-opening of the Hoodsport Trail Park, the Port is also pleased to re-open the Hoodsport Hills Disc Golf Course situated on 20 acres on the South side of State Rt 119, adjacent to the Lake Cushman Golf Course. The course is in a beautiful, forested setting emphasizing its natural aesthetics, a wonderful environment for professional and amateur disc golfers. Disc golf clinics and tournaments at the 9-hole disc golf course events can be scheduled by submitting an event application to the Port of Hoodsport.
