Announcement for the Grand Opening of the “Back Nine” – An additional nine holes at the Hoodsport Hills Disc Golf Course in Hoodsport, Washington

The Port of Hoodsport along with Commissioners Lori Kincannon and Cody Morris are thrilled to announce the grand opening of the “Back Nine” – An additional nine holes at the Hoodsport Hills Disc Golf Course, located within the scenic Hoodsport Trail Park. Spanning 20 acres on the south side of State Route 119, adjacent to the Lake Cushman Golf Course, this course is set in a stunning, wooded landscape that attracts both professional and amateur disc golfers.

As part of our ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance the park, we took the opportunity to utilize revenue from the removal of diseased, dying, and fallen hazard trees—along with an additional 10-acre expansion—to further develop and enrich our disc golf course. Additionally, as a key component of the Hoodsport Trail Park restoration project, 3,000 cedar trees were purchased and replanted to restore the forest, support wildlife habitats, and protect vital soil and water resources. With continued investment and community support, the park will remain a valuable environmental and recreational asset for years to come.

A special thank you goes to Port of Hoodsport Facility Maintenance Supervisor, Scott Lindgren, for his vision, design expertise, and dedication in overseeing this year-long project in collaboration with Forest McCullough of NW Land and Tree Service. Through countless hours of work—enduring snow, wind, and rain—they have created a truly unique and natural disc golf experience.

We sincerely appreciate the community’s patience throughout this process, and we’re confident you’ll agree that the results were well worth the wait.

As part of the ongoing maintenance and care of the Disc Golf Course, the POH is forming the Hoodsport Trail Team Volunteer Group. This dedicated team of volunteers will work in coordination with the Facility Maintenance Supervisor to support the year-round upkeep and preservation of the course. Their generosity and commitment will help ensure the course remains in top condition for all to enjoy.

Please join the Port of Hoodsport Commissioners and staff for a formal ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the official opening of the new “Back Nine” at the Hoodsport Hills Disc Golf Course on Saturday, May 17, 2025.

Thank you again for your support of the Port of Hoodsport and our great community!
