Approval of Agenda:
Commissioner Petz made a motion to approve the 7-2-13 meeting agenda. Commissioner O’Laughlin seconded, unanimously approved.
Minutes:
Commissioner Petz made a motion to approve the minutes of June 18, 2013. Commissioner O’Laughlin seconded, unanimously approved.
Vouchers:
Commissioner Petz made a motion to approve the Vouchers June 2013(2of2) $3,516.65 and Payroll $1,791.29 Commissioner O’Laughlin seconded, unanimously approved.
Public Communication:
Jason Stymacks talked about looking at the damaged bridges at the Hoodsport Trail Park. He talked about the Alder trees and the debris that continues to fall in and around the creek. The bridges can be manually jacked up and re set with cedar logs; the railing needs to be repaired as well. He will try to coordinate the repairs with the WSU 4H Forestry group who will be at the trail park to continue clean up and a new hiking trail on the golf course side of the street.

Port Maintenance Reports:
Spring cleaning has started in the Hoodsport Trail Park, the maintenance crew is painting the outhouse, kiosk and trail head signs. Someone left 2 potted trees by the sign post at the Hoodsport Trail Park which will be planted in the park. An internal procedures checklist was created for protocol on what to do if there is vandalism or plugged up toilets at the Public Restrooms and contact information for what the public can do to report. Preparing to repair the metal plate at the end of the flexible metal part of the plank going down to the boat slips from the dock. Screws have been sheared off and the metal plate needs to be repaired or replaced. In an effort to have control of what the Port is responsible for at the Celebrate Hoodsport fireworks event, a parking sketch has been created showing where the Troopers, Sheriffs, EMT’s, Fire Department and Tow truck are to be stationed. The public restrooms have been plugged and new flush kits allowing more volume of water have been installed.
Port Operations Manager Report:
The Port of Hoodsport will provide traffic & citizen safety at the annual Celebrate Hoodsport fireworks event, State Troopers will be stationed at Hwy 101 and State Rt 119 to direct traffic, Sheriff’s deputies will be on foot patrol for crowd control, a tow truck will be on call and a septic pumper will be on call again this year, preparations are under way for the Celebrate Hoodsport fireworks event to be held on Saturday July 6th. The Port will bring in extra port o pots to accommodate the hundreds of people who will be in town for the annual Celebrate Hoodsport event. The County inspector issued a Certificate of occupancy and checked the ADA Handicap sign at the handicap parking which passed inspection. The ‘as built’ specs were approved by the County. Currently talking to business owners to host a Community Spaghetti dinner as a venue for business owners, port commissioners and the public to discuss the future of Hoodsport. The Port of Hoodsport’s new public restroom facility was published in the Washington Public Port Association’s newsletter. The WSU 4H crew will be starting on the Hoodsport Trail park on July 16th. A letter was issued by the State of Washington increasing the Port Commissioners per diem from $90. To $114. due to inflation. The increase is scheduled every five years.

New Business:
Next project for the Port and updating its Master Plan, this will be tabled for discussion at a later date, a public meeting will be held to revise what the public needs.
