Over 75 people attended a grand opening celebration that was held with the Port Commissioners in attendance BBQ ing and serving hot dogs, chips & drinks.

The Hoodsport Trail Park has extended
hiking trails to the South side of State Route 119 parallel to the Lake Cushman golf course. The hiking trail was completed last summer by the WSU 4H Forestry crew who blazed an additional mile of hiking trails. This winter; wood signs will be made to identify hiking trails, bridges, trees, points of interest, flora, fauna and animals throughout the 80 acres. The signs will be installed in the Spring of 2014. 16,000 trees that were planted as part of the reforestation project after removing dead and diseased trees are now thriving throughout the park.

On Saturday July 6, 2013 the Hoodsport Community Events Assn. sponsored the 29th annual Celebrate Hoodsport Fireworks event.
