MINUTES FROM THE REGULAR COMMISSION MEETING
OF THE PORT OF HOODSPORT COMMISSION
February 12, 2013

Approval of Agenda: Commissioner Petz made a motion to approve the 2-11-13 meeting agenda. Commissioner Brazil seconded, unanimously approved.
Minutes: Commissioner Brazil made a motion to approve the minutes of January 15, 2013. Commissioner Petz seconded, unanimously approved.
Vouchers: Commissioner Petz made a motion to approve the Vouchers February (1of1) $5,721.96.00, February 2013 (2of2) $3,624.00 Commissioner Brazil seconded, unanimously approved.
Public Communication:
Mike Purvis, IGA discussed ideas for signage on the side of the new Public Restrooms. Businesses & local associations can participate in the signage to promote local tourism.
Commissioner Reports:
Commissioners Brazil & Petz visited the CXT Facility in Spokane to view the Montrose Public Restroom that is scheduled to be delivered on February 14th. The Commissioners discussed having the Public Grand Opening on Tuesday, April 9th in conjunction with a regular Port meeting.
Port Maintenance Reports:
None
Port Operations Manager Report:
Discussed delivery of the Public Restrooms on Thursday February 14th at 9am, 4 of us from the Port will be there to oversee and take photos.
A letter was written to ex Commissioner Patterson accepting his letter & invoice in lieu of the payment of the balance that was owed to the Port.
A letter was received from Hood Canal Adventures thanking the Port for hearing their presentation at the regular Port Commission meeting in January.
The Commissioners reviewed the County tax levy valuations. Will write an article for the Shelton Journal regarding the new Public Restroom installation by the Port of Hoodsport. The Polar Bear Plunge put on the Hoodsport Lions Club & Mason county Search and Rescue was held on the Port of Hoodsport dock and was a huge success! The docks were clean, restrooms were provided to the public, parking was available through IGA and the event raised more money for the cause this year than ever before. The Port of Hoodsport was thanked & appreciated. The Grand opening was discussed, the date has been decided and a celebration including the press will be planned for Tuesday, April 9th.
Budget: Review of Expenditures/Revenue partial month ending December 2013
Old Business:
- Discussion/Direction Regarding the Septic Design, Temporary & Permanent Restroom Projects:
Septic Design: Commissioner Petz & the architect are moving forward as per requirements made at the pre conference meeting with Mason County.
Permanent Restrooms: CXT Montrose is complete and will be delivered in two pieces on February 14th.
Temporary Restrooms: Port o pots are temporarily installed
Commissioner Petz summarized the current tasks in the process of the Permanent Restrooms; the General contractor is overseeing the septic system, the landing for the permanent restrooms, hook ups, plumbing and electrical.
New Business:
Discussed what could be the next project for the Port and updating its Master Plan, this will be tabled for discussion at a later date.
Next Meetings: Next meeting date is Tuesday April 9th at 9am.
Adjourn: Commissioner Brazil made a motion to adjourn the Regular Port meeting. Commissioner Petz seconded, unanimously approved, meeting adjourned at 10:15am
