MINUTES FROM THE REGULAR COMMISSION MEETING OF THE PORT OF HOODSPORT COMMISSION May 25, 2016

Approval of Agenda:
Commissioner Petz made a motion to approve the May 25, 2016 meeting agenda, Commissioner Brazil seconded, unanimously approved.
Minutes:
Commissioner Petz made a motion to approve the Regular Port Commission minutes of May 11, 2016; Commissioner Brazil seconded, unanimously approved.
Vouchers:
Commissioner Petz motioned to approve the following Vouchers for payment May 2of2 totaling $2,300.02 Commissioner Brazil seconded, unanimously approved.
Public Communication: None
Commissioner Reports:
Commissioner O’ Laughlin talked about the Kiwanis plant sale on May 20th & 21st which was a fundraiser to buy school supplies for the kids at Hood Canal School. The plant sale raised $3800.00. Commissioner O’ Laughlin was tasked with shopping around for a good surveillance camera that was inexpensive but easy to operate with the capability to have high resolution images. He spoke to a company called 25/7, they said to get a single camera and gave him the specifics on where to locate the one they discussed.
Port Maintenance Reports:
Hoodsport Marina, Dock & Waterfront Park: B. Osborne is waiting for the hangars for the hanging flower baskets, they have been ordered a couple of times but were not sturdy enough for the weight of the plants. Waiting on a scheduled time from Knight Fire for a fire line pressure test. K. Wyatt will talk to the local fire chief to find out if they will test the line.
Public Restrooms: Restrooms remain busy. The restroom floors were painted with a non slip material recommended by the CXT restroom manufacturer. New exhaust fans were installed in the restrooms. B. Osborne was tasked with repairing the hole in the asphalt next to the Port office.
Hoodsport Trail Park: Disc golfers are working on the disc golf baskets and trails.
Port Operations Manager Report:
K. Wyatt collected $175.00 in moorage fees over the past shrimping weekends. K. Wyatt will be responding to the grant agency Recreation Conservation Organization in regards to conversations with the Washington Public Port Associations legal department regarding what the Port is obligated to submit as far as updating and or amending their Comprehensive Plan. K. Wyatt went over electrical bids with the Port Commission to prepare for installing the EV Car Charging Station. Commissioner Brazil made a motion to accept Hood Canal Electric’s bid to complete the installation, Commissioner Brazil seconded the motion, it was unanimously approved. The next steps are to contact PUD#1 to order the Wall mount Car Charging station, contact Hood Canal Communication to install a modem, have signage made, stripe and mark the parking area then hook up the car charging station. K. Wyatt reminded the Port Commission that the Economic Development Council meets once per month at different locations and they are invited to attend the meetings. K. Wyatt went over the current cost breakdown for the disc golf development. The commission discussed having a Grand Opening when the Disc Golf course is ready to play a full 9 holes.
Budget: April Port of Hoodsport Financial Statement was reviewed at the May 11th meeting
